Corpus Christi – Increase Our Daily Staffing Level

The Corpus Christi Professional Fire Fighters Association, IAFF Local #936 is going to have another “Increase Our Daily Staffing Level” informational picket/rally outside City Hall in Corpus Christi, Texas on Tuesday, July 30, 2012 starting about 10:30 A.M.  City Council meeting starts at 11:30 A.M. and the chance for “Public Comment” is at 12:00 P.M.  This will be the Second and FINAL Reading of the City Budget.  There is a good chance that one of our city council member friends will make a Motion to amend the City Budget to add more money in there for overtime for the CC Firefighters.

The issue here is that the City of CC is opening two more ambulances on August 1, 2013.  The Firefighters Association is NOT against the opening of the additional Medic units.  We really need them because of our increased call volume.  WHAT we are against is that the City of CC is reducing four of our four-man fire trucks in critical areas of the city to three-man units.

We are asking for the City to INCREASE our Daily Staffing level from 96 to100 so that we can implement the additional Medic Units and at the same time maintain the four person trucks we have.

Thanks and anyone who can make it and share the importance of four person staffing on a rig would really help our cause during the ‘Public Comment” part of the City Council meeting at 12:00 P.M.
